THE LANTERN CITY PROJECT
(Asian-Canadian Special Events Association (ACSEA), 2024)
“When I look to the sky, the sense of hope and freedom washes over me. In a sense we all yearn to break free of something whether it is a universal, communal or personal struggle. To know that we are not alone in this yearning brings me the sense of hope, strength and community that I can overcome and reach for something new.“
The piece “Rising“ was chosen to be displayed at Granville Island as a lantern to celebrate the year of the dragon
in ACSEA’s lunar new year Lantern City Project for their “Born to be Free“ collection in 2024.
